Olympic Lifting

It takes practice, patience and time to develop a reasonable level of proficiency in Olympic style weightlifting. This class will reinforce proper rhythm and timing through repetition and knowledgeable hands on coaching. Technique, the development of coordination, accuracy, agility and balance are key to being able to lift more. We hold to the principle that "slow is smooth, smooth is fast", slow down your movements to become smooth and balanced. These skills will translate into being able to be a better all around CrossFit athlete.

CrossFit Kids

CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled down version of CrossFit, it is geared and designed for a special population and the specific developmental needs of kids and teenagers (neurological, cognitive, motor).  In a group setting, children and teens participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well- rounded athletes. This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids and teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating. The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play - pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids Trainers. Our goal is to help kids develop a life long love of fitness through active alternatives to sedentary pursuits.

~ Always challenging, never boring

The basic concept of our programming delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive...our specialty is not specializing. Remedy's certified CrossFit coaches will guide everyone through warm-ups, skill and strength work and the workout. The warm-up increases body heat and blood flow which delivers oxygen to your muscle more efficiently. The skill/strength portion will help you develop better technique during typical movements. Everyone will then do the same high intensity conditioning WOD, at either the prescribed (RX) weights or a scaled version.

Corporate Wellness

Customized workshops designed as an introduction to CrossFit for employees of all abilities or age with an emphasis on team building and overall health awareness.  We include a combination of all of our classes, including stretching and mobility, barbell movements, and bootcamp style workouts done in a team format. There is also a nutritional education class that gives employees tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

We focus on finding specific limitations or muscular tensions that prevent athletes from achieving full range of motion. These restrictions can cause overcompensation of other muscle groups or joints, resulting in improper form or potential injury during regular workouts. Tools such as foam rollers, bands, and lacrosse balls are used to help pinpoint areas of soft tissue that need to be released. Improved mobility will help your body positioning during CrossFit movements and exercises, increasing power and strength.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. Remedy Boot Camp (RBC) is designed to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals over a one hour session. This program incorporates a dynamic mix of exercises using various weighted objects, metabolic conditioning, and/or body weight movements. It will help you lose body fat, increase cardiovascular endurance, build strength, and help you get into a routine of regular exercise. RBC works your body head to toe so you will be ready for anything life brings and will push you a little bit further than you would normally push yourself in the gym alone.

Most of the basic poses in yoga support the same concepts of CrossFit such as creating torque, finding a braced neutral spinal position, and balance. Breath awareness is also a main factor in both practices, being able to control your heart rate and timing of your breath translates into more efficient oxygen usage. Restorative stretching yoga will counter the front-of-the-body tightness that lifting often creates, which will help you to produce more power and sustain movements for longer durations.
